closerescue of dormant tumors - long term effect of fibrates

this is an excellent paper - no doubt - i saw an early version - great story - comments: is it possible rescue the dormant phenotype of the tumor cells or MEF/RS PPARalpha knockout cells using a retroviral library - not sure whether enough cells are present but it looks like one could produce quite a lot of mice with dormant tumors and if a retrovirus can induce tumor mass expansion (tumor cells are proliferating and the lack of proliferation does not seem to be the bottleneck why these tumors do not expand) probably by induction of angiogenesis or "someting else" it might be possible to isolate the responsible gene - how likely will it be to find necessary genes if two are necessary at the same time - not in the same cells but in some close proximity - i would not titer the library one retrovirus in one cell - did somebody ever look into long term studies like framingham or others whether patients taking fibrate for decades have more aggressive cancers or more cancers or worse prognosis at diagnosis or are they diagnosed earlier with cancer
