Tullio Pozzan's Evaluation of this article at Faculty of 1000 Biology

Tullio Pozzan (University of Padova, Italy) has recently evaluated this article at F1000Biology and his/her comments are as follows:

"This study analyzes the dynamics of cAMP changes in living pancreatic B cells by using a mouse that expresses the cAMP probe selectively in this tissue. This paper is technically important because this cAMP reporter has been incorporated into the genome of mice under a tightly regulated promoter that permits expression of the probe only upon activation with doxycycline. The interest of this mouse model is that not only is expression of the probe inducible, but also the mice can be crossed with other commercially available strains expressing the transactivator in a tissue-specific way and this opens the way to a thorough investigation of cAMP dynamics in many living tissues" .
