any leakage of NIR?

THz

is it possible that there is even a tiny leakage of the near infrared laser light into the beam that hits the sample? if so, that could cause some of the effects seen. but i suspect that the THz is easily filtered, so there is no NIR hitting the sample.

There was no NIR in the experimental setting. NIR has been filtered out. Thanks for the comment
