Poor reporting of details

Posted by sbarnhaus on 18 May 2017 at 03:25 GMT

I wish I knew what was happening in the training of scientists these days. And I suppose reviewers are just too busy to be bothered with details. More and more, I see papers in which vague statements are made, such as here: "The eyes were enucleated at different time points post-lasering...." Oh? And which time points did the authors present in their figures? Not stated, in many cases. In some figure legends, the authors do not even bother to mention what sort of assay produced the data. Editors really should expect better.
