Correction to a value in the introduction of the text

The second-to-last sentence in the first paragraph of the introduction states, "As of 2016, renewable energy facilities in California covered 400,000 km2 of land, more than in Germany and 188 other countries..." The value provided is incorrect. 400,000 km2 is the land area of the entire state of California, which is larger than Germany and 188 other countries. As of 2016, utility scale solar energy installations covered 375 km2 of shrubland and scrubland, and 118 km2 of cropland in California. Additional facilities are located within the built environment.
