I think that this may be overstating things. The authors provide some reports (single cases and small series) of infection in humans, but as far as I know S. sciuri is not a major pathogen. The urinary tract infection reference finds one symptomatic case of infection in >30,000 samples reviewed. None of this detracts from the interest of this particular paper, though.
