Reviewer 1's Review (Timothy Gardner and Ilaria Mogno)
“The paper "Sequential logic model deciphers dynamic transcriptional control of gene expressions" attempts to describe transcriptional regulation with finite state automata and sequential logic model, ad apply it to the endo16 system in sea urchin.
The paper is well written. The problem and the questions are stated clearly, as well as the future directions and the possible problems. Its computational aspects are deeply analyzed, however it seems weak on its biological aspects. Even if the references from the endo16 system data are provided, the paper would benefit from additional descriptions of the experimental data. In particular it would be useful to add a justification of the discretization of the data, and how the authors dealt with the noise.”
