Competing Interests
As employees it is the authors' responsibility to look into resistance breaking mechanisms in target organisms. In this context the efficacy of transfluthrin against pyrethroid resistant insects was observed and further examined. Described findings will be used as baseline research for further product development. The decided to publish their findings because they see a high importance that might be also informative for a broad vector control community as well as for other companies producing polyfluorinated active ingredients. A patent – subject to transfluthrin as resistance breaker - is published with the respective patent number: WO2014079928 A1. The affiliation does not alter the authors' adherence to PLOS ONE policies on sharing data and materials.
