Competing Interests
Although the authors J. Zimmermann T. Shimizu and G. Morfill were not affiliated with terraplasma GmbH at the time that the studies were undertaken, the current employment represents a perceived financial competing interest as the company and its employees would likely stand to benefit from the success of the cold atmospheric plasma technology. Of course the same applies to any number of plasma companies, for which the publication of our results provides a free research input as well as freedom to operate.
