Competing Interests
JRS holds patents on the use of 11beta-HSD1 inhibitors in diabetes, atherosclerotic disease and age-associated cognitive impairment and has been pursuing the development of 11beta-HSD1 inhibitors in an academic setting with submitted patents comprising composition of matter. There are no further patents, products in development or marketed products to declare. This does not alter the authors' adherence to all the PLOS ONE policies on sharing data and materials.
