Competing Interests
Robert T. Schooley is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board for Gilead Sciences. A consulting fee from Gilead Sciences was sent on to the University of California to be used in an unrestricted fashion for research and educational activities that are not covered by other sources. Ms. Orlov is a graduate student, and Dr. Schooley has used, in part, the funds from his role as a member of Gilead’s SAB to pay for her stipend and for some of the laboratory resources used for this work.
