Egon Ogris serves as a consultant to Millipore Corporation (http://www.millipore.com/). None of the co-authors have a competing interest. The royalties paid by Millipore Corporation and Santa Cruz Biotechnology were used for paying for materials as well as for paying the salary of Marko Roblek for a period of 6 months. No patents related to this research have been/are in development and the anti-Lamin A/C monoclonal antibody 4C11 used in this study has been licensed to the biotechnology companies Active Motif, Alexis Corporation and Cell Signaling Technology Inc.
