Competing Interests
A provisional patent application was filed in November 2007 with the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) concerning the use of chemical compounds to depolymerize the cell cytoskeleton as a method that minimizes damage to cells during cryopreservation due to physical factors associated with the cell's cytoskeletal network. No licensing agreements have been established to date.
