The impact of water management and nitrification inhibitors on methane emissions from paddy soil

Cui and colleagues investigated three water management practices on rice paddy soil to decide which is the most effective method to control agricultural methane emissions. They prove that alternate wetting and drying irrigation combined with nitrification inhibitor DMPP can reduce cumulative methane emission by more than 80%.
