Association between muscle quality index and time to stand up from the prone position in community-dwelling older adults

Ojeda and colleagues explored the relationship between Muscle Quality Index and the "standing up from a prone position" (SPP) test as an indicator of functional autonomy in community dwelling older adults. Their results suggest the SPP may be a suitable tool for assessing function in daily living outside of the clinical environment.

The Silence of the Labs: Ethical Oversight in Metabolomics Research

Badia and colleagues introduce MinEth, an open-source transformer framework and benchmark corpus. MinEth uses Artificial Intelligence to automatically detect ethics-related reporting and oversight statements in scientific publications on metabolomics, providing an open, reproducible resource for advancing transparency in metabolomics research.

The complete defensive strategy: Defining complementary pitching and fielder positioning strategies in baseball

Ultimately authors find that this system provides minimal advantages in preventing hits and runs over strategies based only on batter identity.
