A temperature-based classifier defines region C. The goal is for C to accurately represent biome B by minimizing both the false positive area (FPA, where C incorrectly includes areas outside B) and the false negative area (FNA, where C fails to include parts of B). This is achieved by minimizing the maximum of FPA and FNA (MFPNA).
