Guillaume received a Masters in Physics from the University of Oxford, specialising in lasers, quantum information and astrophysics. He began working in academic publishing in 2009. Starting at Institute of Physics (IOP) Publishing, Guillaume gained editorial experience in environmental sciences as Publisher of Environmental Research Letters. He later managed IOP Publishing's biomedical, environmental and engineering journal portfolio team. He also developed new open access journals, including the Environmental Research series. Before joining PLOS, he led the physical and environmental sciences team at F1000, an open research publisher. Guillaume joined PLOS Water as Executive Editor in January 2024.
