Variability in guttae distribution in specular microscopy acquisitions, illustrating the method
Images (a) to (d) show the four acquisitions with respective AI-based segmentation and computed EECD values of (a) 1100 cells/mm2, (b) 1426 cells/mm2, (c) 1337 cells/mm2, and (d) 1296 cells/mm2. Noticeable shifts in guttae positioning across acquisitions lead to varying morphometric parameters, highlighting the need for using the median value as a robust measure for assessing corneal endothelium health.
