Mortality reduction assumed, not proven

That modern medicine finds a way to reduce markers of disease (blood pressure, cholesterol) without confirmation of an end point (reduced mortality) suggests the same misdirection posed by statin drugs. Statins reduce a number, cholesterol, but have failed to significantly reduce mortality related to coronary heart disease. This fact was uncovered by Harvard doctor John Abramson, author of OVERDOSED AMERICA. Side effects were too high to place millions on this pill.
