Dear Dr. Embers,

If that is the case, then the article has a serious mistake that has caused significant controversy and needs to be corrected. The published study says that ceftiofur was given to the monkeys. Ceftiofur and ceftriaxone are not the same antibiotic. If you are now saying that ceftriaxone and not ceftiofur was used, you need to ask the journal to publish a correction to the study in order to avoid more misunderstanding and wasted debate.

A re-read of the online article On March 2,2012 --
Ceftiotur has been expunged from the text of the article
(which I originally downloaded)
and has been replaced by Ceftriaxone [Rocephin (R)]
I was pleased with the original text, and I am equally pleased
with the present manuscript.
I note with interest the 1998 Rhesus experimental Neuroborreliosis by Dr Gail Habicht (no antbiotics) and the
observations of pathogenesis of peripheral nerve injujry
in untreated brimates with Neuroboreliosis.
With appreciation,

Alan B. MacDonald MD

With so many authors on this paper, how do you explain this? It can not be a typographical error. Ceftiofur and ceftriaxone are manufactured and supplied by different companies. Was ceftriofur used in any of this work? If so, which aniumals received it?

How do you explain why this occurred?
