Growth standard charts for monitoring bodyweight in dogs of different sizes

Fig 2

Effect of neutering on growth in male dogs.

Median (50th centile) curves for males of each of the 9 breeds for each neuter age group (a: <22wks; b: 22-26wks; c: 26-37wks; d: >37wks), after conversion to z-scores using the appropriate entire group model. The vertical dashed lines represent the timing of neutering in each of 4 groups. The horizontal dashed lines indicate the standard centiles (0.4%, 2%, 9%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 91%, 98% and 99.6%). A horizontal plotted curve represents exact correspondence between the neuter group centile and the intact group centile whilst, at that any given age, a positive or negative slope indicates an increased or decreased weight in the neuter group centile compared with the intact group centile, respectively.
