Fatty Acids are Key in 4-Hydroxy-2-Nonenal-Mediated Activation of Uncoupling Proteins 1 and 2
Membranes from E. polar lipid were reconstituted with 15% arachidonic acid and 10.5 µg/(mg lipid) UCP1 (charge 19). Buffer solution contained 50 mM Na2SO4, 10 mM Tris, 10 mM MES, 0,6 mM EGTA, at pH 7.5 and T = 32°C. Data points represent mean ± standard deviation from at least 3 independent experiments. The data points were fitted following Michaelis-Menten kinetics as described in the text.
