Meaningful marker strategy.

When the speaker invents new markers he selects an attribute which is distinctive for the different objects in the utterance (in this case this is ) and creates new markers for each value (in this case “-ti” and “-ta” for the two values (medium) and (large) respectively). The hearer is able to guess the semantic features of these markers by using again the principle of distinctiveness.
