There is nothing in the article that indicates these findings are specific to Autism.
The next step should be an identical study on subjects diagnosed with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder [ Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Alcohol Related Neurodevelopment Disorder ]

The analytic method is general and can be applied to investigate other phenotypes, as indicated in the title. However, in this study we only analyzed data from autistic children compared to non-autistic children.
