Regression slopes

Relative brain and testis sizes were represented by the residuals of brain and testis size regressed on male body mass using the least-squares model.

Were regression slopes used to correct for body mass? If so, what least-squares model was used? I would suggest using regression slopes derived either from the PGLS model or phylogenetic independent contrasts. See references for PDAP: http://www.biology.ucr.edu/people/faculty/Garland/PDAP.html

Thank you for your interest in the research and for your comments. I used ordinary least-squares regression. Regression parameters were estimated using bootstrapping. I will have to look into the PGLS model you mentioned, I am not aware of its advantages and limitations.
