it says: "Open circles are subjects who went from low- to high-carbohydrate, and shaded triangles are subjects who went from high- to low-carbohydrate intake.". But no where in the paper there is anything suggesting that some subjects have gone through the conditions in reverse order. From a methodological standpoint it would be better if some subjects in fact did the reverse order, and possibly this what the researchers have done, but they do not provide their results nor explain that in the paper.
