closeIncreased Past-Year Suicide Attempts in 16-17 year-olds accessing Gender Affirming Hormones compared to those with no Gender Affirming Hormones

Table 3 appears to have significant calculation errors in the GAH 16-17 column for the first 4 numbers listed. An n of 39 or 40 is listed in all 4 rows. Given the overall number of 362 people in the category- 40 out of 362 should be listed as 11%- not 33.6%. 39 out of 362 should be listed as 10.8%, not 32.8%. Even with the corrected percentiles, the GAH 16-17 group had a higher percentile of people with a past-year suicide attempt (11% vs 6.2 to 9.6%) and a much higher percentile of people with a past-year suicide attempt requiring inpatient hospitalization than did any of the other groups, including the no GAH group (11% vs 2.5% for the not GAH group). It is unlikely that the past-year suicide attempt would reach statistical significance; however, the past-year suicide attempt requiring inpatient hospitalization would be very likely to reach statistical significance; however, it was not analyzed in this report. Please include this finding in a research addendum. We cannot ignore this important data, even if it argues against GAH provision in certain groups.
