Alas, it's not a hoax

I was hoping this paper was a hoax aimed to demonstrate that a peer reviewing process is fallible (unlike the "Creator"). Alas, the response of one of the authors to a comment proved it's not. Now it's PLOS reputation that is at stake and they don't seem to be taking this seriously enough. My lab members (Institute of Intelligent Systems and Robotics, Paris) are considering avoiding submissions to PLOS in the future if proper decisions are not taken, i.e., retracting the paper and explaining how it got published.
