forgive the newbie question: could we have more detail about the output? The Illumina IIe, for instance, generates 2x75bp paired end reads in a week. Would your 143nt figure refer to the sum of the two ends? Does it not include the unsequenced section in between? Longer illumina runs allow 2x150bp products, so if the dna fragments were < 300bp, as is done here, then there would be, presumably, no need for the SHERA step?
