Neurotoxicity in snakebite.

Snakebite is a global health problem, and neurotoxicity is a major cause of death, after snake envenoming. There are many unanswered questions regarding neurotoxicity. More research is needed to understand its complex pathophysiological mechanisms and identify new treatments, and global efforts are needed to make currently available treatments more accessible in the resource-limited settings where snakebite is common. See Ranawaka et al.
