It is compelling as an author and scientist to take a look at what has come before. Where Ms. Chan's topic resides is in our shared future. Eight years have passed as volumes (2014) before my topic and submission came to mycetoma.
In retrospect, I wonder if I could have been more productive. At any rate, I very much like working on the disease set mentioned. I think Dr. Chan might like some of the current work, and I believe she is right about the nature of shared interest. I like the entire PLOS volume set for the nature of underlying zest....that of the research topics being of supreme interest to the authors. It's a sense that come through the titles and as a potential submission is reviewed, I hope to be one who makes Dr. Chan's view become reality.
