This article has highlighted the importance of Leptospirosis as an important Infectious disease in N.India.The diagnosis was made by Elisa & utilised Modified Faine Criteria.It is essential that International Organisations recommend simple Guidelines for diagnosis of common tropical Infectious diseases, as complicated tests are not available in most Institutions (such as MAT or PCR for diagnosis of Leptospirosis).Leptospirosis is under reported & under diagnosed in India because of lack of simple diagnostic tests.
