This article has succeeded in highlighting the impact of a neglected disease by using ethnographic methods. It clearly revealed that the burden of neglected diseases is not negligible. The authors succeeded in bringing the further neglected aspect of a neglected disease to the fore. This paper sets an example for that how anthropological research can be made applicable in the broader field of public health. The authors have successfully utilized the ethnographic methods to highlight the problem of hydrocele and its effect on conjugal life and marriageablity. This research highlighted the problem well beyond the numbers. And it gives an insight into understanding the problem in an easily understandable way. Hope this type of research will help in sensitizing the policy makers and program managers to help people leading a decent and quality life.
