July 2007

The image this month is of Nicotiana tabacum, the plant from which tobacco is made—a surprisingly pretty plant. One of its unpleasant products, snus, a smokeless tobacco, is discussed in a debate article (Gartner, et al.) published in this month's issue, and in the editorial (The PLoS Medicine Editors).
