Vivien Ressler was born in Havana, Cuba, and, in 1961, moved to Caracas, Venezuela, where she was raised along with a brother and two sisters. In 1978, she moved to New York city, and in 1989, she moved, with her husband and family, to San Diego, California, where she established an independent studio. She works with mixed media, watercolor, and acrylics. Her work has always been influenced by the strong colors of the Caribbean, where she grew up. Vivien holds an Associate Degree in Interior Design from the Escuela Villasmil de Leon, in Caracas, Venezuela, and a Bachelor of Arts from Hunter College in New York, where she completed a dual major in Education and Fine Arts. She has studied at the Art Students League and the National Academy School of Fine Arts in New York, as well as numerous workshops with artists throughout the United States. Her work can be found in collections both in the United States and abroad.
