One of the great benefits of the Pi is that its GPIO (General Purpose Input Output) pins can be used to both read and control many peripherals. In this set-up, we see an HD camera, buzzer, a two-line LCD screen and connection to an audio output. This device is being prototyped prior to various read sensors (temperature, humidity, Rf receiver and light level sensors) being added.
