Heatmaps illustrating the probability that a participant transitions to each state given the stimulus (i.e., true values of μ and θ). The coherence level (θ) governs the rate of the transition towards a stronger belief that the ‘stay’ response will lead to a reward or loss; and the direction of the stimulus (μ) governs the direction of the transitions.
