what was the temperature?

Posted by maffeia on 13 Jan 2016 at 17:33 GMT

I think that an important information is missing in this paper: the basal temperature of the ponds.
I suspect that warming could have different effects on phytoplancton according to the basal temperature. That is,. the effect of increasing temperature from 10° to 15°, like it probably happened (on average) in this UK-based study; might be different from the effect of increasing temperature from 20° to 25°C, as global warming is expected to do in several countries.
Could the Authors provide actual temperatures?

Please see S1 Fig for the seasonal cycle of water temperature and the associated legend for the annual means. They are: ambient = 13.4°C, warmed = 17.7°C.
