The prefusion conformation of the respiratory syncytial virus fusion glycoprotein (RSV F) is a major target for the development of vaccines, protective antibodies and small molecules. The potently neutralizing antibody AM14 is unique in its ability to specifically recognize the trimeric, furin-cleaved, prefusion conformation of RSV F. The structure shown is the RSV F protein bound to three AM14 Fabs and three motavizumab Fabs, viewed looking down toward the viral membrane. McLellan et al.
