SigH is activated in a minor fraction of the cell population.

Confocal microscopy reveals that SigH-dependent GFP expression is limited to a minor fraction of the cell population. In N315comGFP, the GFP-positive frequency was 1.6+−0.6% (mean ± SD, n = 10; Panel A), while 100% of N315aspGFP cells expressed GFP (Panel B).
