Phylogenetic conservation of substrate use specialization in leaf litter bacteria

Fig 5

Phylogenetic tree of bacterial isolates with functional and response traits.

Maximum likelihood phylogenetic tree of bacterial isolates based on the majority consensus of 100 bootstrap runs using Phylip. Isolate names shown in green, black, and purple belong to phyla Proteobacteria, Actinobacteria, and Bacteriodetes, respectively. Symbols next to each isolate name match those used in Fig 6. Plotted next to each isolate is the summary of functional and response traits for simple and complex substrates. All functional traits are based on the mean value across all temperatures and, when applicable, EcoPlate substrates.
