MQ, MilliQ water; FW, filtered water by passing tap water through the nonwoven-fabric filter, activated charcoal powders and cationic ion-exchange material. Detailed information is given in ref. [3] LV1, LV2, LV3 and LV4 represent FW electrolyzed at levels 1, 2, 3 and 4 with a maximum of 50 V using the test apparatus. NAC, 5 mM N-acetyl cysteine. *a and *b indicate p values of < 0.01 when compared with the value for H2O2-treated MQ and FW, respectively.
