A Novel Vasoactive Proline-Rich Oligopeptide from the Skin Secretion of the Frog Brachycephalus ephippium

Sample containing 3.0 mg of lyophilized skin secretion was dissolved in 150 μL of 0.1% trifluoroacetic acid and loaded onto a Vydac C18 column; chromatography was carried out with a linear gradient of acetonitrile concentration on water from 0 to 100% in 0.1% trifluoroacetic acid, at flow rate of 1.0 mL/min for 60 min. Peptides in the effluent of the column were monitored by absorbance measurements at the indicated wavelengths.
