Fitness Consequences of Advanced Ancestral Age over Three Generations in Humans

Individuals (n = 4,167) with higher weighted mean age of male ancestors (WMAMA) had lower survival to the age of 15.

Bars show mean survival to 15 within each WMAMA quartile, ±1 standard error. The lower threshold of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th WMAMA quartiles are 30.43, 32.92 and 35.86 years respectively.
