RNA editing patterns

Posted by baysalbe on 08 Aug 2013 at 15:50 GMT

I am wondering if authors have any explanation or confirmatory evidence for what appears to be allele-specific RNA editing in Table 1. In contrast to the A allele that shows RNA editing in TPH2a isoform in amygdala, the T allele of rs4290270 genomic SNP does not appear to show any editing.
The T allele could not be captured for the TPH2b isoform transcripts, the A allele of which shows abundant editing in all brain regions in Table 1. Were you able to see RNA editing of the T allele of TPH2b isoform by sequencing of the total RT-PCR product in T/T homozygous subjects?

Any comments on allele specific RNA editing is appreciated.
