Given the rather controversial results of this study, which go against both published literature as well as common sense, I think a disclosure of all funding sources available to the institute of Prof Dr. Wolfgang Freidl would be beneficial to safely exclude a conflict of interests. Instead, no information on funding is provided and we read a puzzling statement: "The authors have no support or funding to report".
I am afraid this cannot do in such a controversial case.

The authors declare that the study “Nutrition and Health – The Association between Eating Behavior and Various Health Parameters: A Matched Sample Study” received no financial support or compensation from any individual or corporate entity for research of professional service. The authors further declare that there are no personal financial holdings that could be perceived as constituting a potential conflict of interest.
Other projects of the Institute of Social Medicine and Epidemiology are funded by the following sources: The Austrian Science Fund (FWF – “Fonds zur Förderung der wissenschaftlichen Forschung”), OeNB Anniversary Fund (“Österreichische Nationalbank – Jubiläumsfonds”), “Land Steiermark”, and the Main Association of the Austrian Social Insurance Institutions (“Hauptverband der Österreichischen Sozialversicherungsträger”; https://forschung.medunig...).
