Secretion in mycobacteria

Posted by rketteler on 28 May 2010 at 04:57 GMT

A comprehensive study on different luciferases in mycobacterium tuberculosis. It might be useful to include GLUC variants with stable kinetics (Maguire et al. Anal Chem 2009; Welsh et al. BBRC 2009).
Secretion of GLUC in the absence of a signal peptide has been reported previously and seems to require association with the Golgi apparatus in mammalian cells (Ketteler et al. Genome Biol. 2008). It is highly interesting to find secretion without signal peptide in mycobacteria as well.
