Moving mode used for Ruppert Lake

500-yr running median

Low-frequency trends at Ruppert Lake were estimated using a moving mode, as opposed to a moving median, because this yielded a high signal-to-noise index. This difference was neglected in the current paper but is presented correctly and describe in more detail by Higuera et al. (2009):
