breeding may be occurring outside study regions

At the outset of this study, we postulated that Common Myna establishment would negatively affect the abundance of cavity-nesting species.

It is unclear to what extent these cavity-nesters are nesting within the study regions and hence potentially subject to competition for nest sites from mynas. One of the species Australian King Parrot breeds entirely outside the study regions in areas where mynas are likely absent. Several of of the other species may do this to some degree.

No competing interests declared.
