Vector molecular biology publications in leading scientific journals from 1975 to 2006.
The number of publications was determined using a Web of Science database search for publications involving mosquitoes, ticks, sand flies, and other vectors. These two groups of leading journals were selected: generalist (PNAS, Science, Nature, Cell, Genetics), and field-specific (Insect Molecular Biology, Insect Biochemistry & Molecular Biology).
